Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during my first session?

A conversation.

We will start by talking about where you’re struggling and what you’re seeking support for. We’ll dive into how you spend your time each day. I will ask you about how your body is doing. I will probably also ask you how your heart is doing.

Next, we’ll go through a screening of your breath, posture, movement, and strength. We’ll clarify your specific goals for treatment and figure out how an action plan to move forward.

We’ll have 60 minutes together during your intial evaluation. When you leave, you will feel like you have a deeper understanding of your specific situation and have a concrete plan with next steps that realistically, beautifully fit into your everyday life.

You should be able to do what you want to do with your body—and do it with joy.

How do sessions take place? In what form is support being offered?

Sessions take place in my East Sacramento office on the edge of McKinley Park. The clinic address is 801 Alhambra Blvd, Suite 3, Sacramento, California, 95816.

Once you’ve had your initial evaluation with me in person, you have the option of scheduling sessions virtually via my secure telehealth platform.

In-home visits can be arranged for an additional fee. Please contact me for more information.

Do you accept insurance?

No, I do not currently accept any form of insurance. All fees are due at the time of service. I can, however, provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Please contact me to inquire about my reduced-fee community offerings if cost is a barrier for you.

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably in clothes that allow you to move and allow me to see what’s happening in your body. A fitted tank top and/or sports bra and thin, flexible leggings or yoga pants tend to be best.

Is an internal assessment necessary?

No. While an internal assessment can provide helpful information as to what is going on with your pelvic floor muscles, I can also gather a significant amount of information in other ways. Internal pelvic floor work is always available to you as an option.

What’s the parking situation?

My office is located at 801 Alhambra Blvd, Suite 3. It's a small brick building complex at the Southeast corner of H Street and Alhambra Boulevard. There are metered spots right outside my office door on Alhambra, and plenty of street parking around beautiful McKinley Park.

Can I bring my baby to my appointment?

Yes, absolutely. This is your time. I always love welcoming baby and children into the clinic and am very used to adapting my sessions as needed, so please do whatever is best for you. A small note - there are 3 steps up into my clinic, but I will help you lift the stroller!

Can I bring a support person?

Yes, absolutely. You are always welcome to bring another adult to your session if that enhance your feelings of support, safety, and healing.

I gave birth years ago. Can you still help me?

Yes, absolutely. Whether you are 8 weeks postpartum, or 8 years postpartum, it is never too late to heal from birth. My goal is for you to leave our sessions feeling connected to your body and empowered to take care of your health in a way that realistically, beautifully fits into your everyday life.

What is your cancellation policy?

A 24-hour cancellation policy applies to all scheduled support sessions. Cancellations occurring less than 24 hours in advance will be charged the full session price.
